Heavy metal toxicity can have a vast array of symptoms and can be a subtle underlying cause of many serious diseases and disorders. In most cases, heavy metal toxicity today doesn't come from a single instance exposure. It comes from a very gradual, often daily dosage of small amounts, making symptoms appear very slowly, almost unnoticeably until major illness strikes. The most common toxic source is metal dental fillings. Another problematic toxic source is unfiltered tap water. Illnesses that heavy metal overload have been linked to are numerous and varied.

Heavy Metal Toxicity

Metals accumulating in the body eventually become lodged in areas such as the liver, kidneys, ovaries, and thyroid. According to Hulda Clark, Ph.D., N.D., such an accumulation significantly disrupts these organs' ability to function, causing subtle or severe dysfunction.

Short of being diagnosed with a specific condition, heavy metals can cause many generalized symptoms. When seemingly random symptoms appear, your physician is able to do little more than prescribe medication after medication in an attempt to resolve ailments such as chronic fatigue or depression. This can become very frustrating, and your underlying condition can actually continue to deteriorate.

Fulvic Acid

As a powerful detoxifier and antioxidant capable of transporting molecules heavier than itself, fulvic acid binds with toxic heavy metals, as well as other pollutants, and carries them out of the body. As well as its detoxifying properties, fulvic acid makes cell walls more permeable, meaning that your body is better able to absorb and utilize nutrients. Minerals that interact with fulvic acid also have increased bioavailability and are more easily assimilated.

Fulvic acid is easy to take since it is a mild-tasting liquid supplement. Common dosage is one to two ounces per day. If you are just starting out, you may prefer to start with a quarter ounce per day to avoid common detox side effects such as headache or fatigue.

Properties of Fulvic Acid

Organic fulvic acid is a naturally occurring humic extract. Created within the soil by micro-organisms, it induces complex photosynthesis reactions in plants by transporting important nutrients and minerals into the plants. This process enables the plant to circulate complex carbohydrate sugars throughout for nourishment. Some of these sugars return to the root system, which in turn provides nourishment to the originating micro-organisms in the soil. In this way, the whole process repeats itself.

As an existing element in the earth, our ancestors received this humic substance naturally through their diet. Since farming practices are focused on pest-free, high yield crops for profit, soil is now repeatedly doused in pesticides, and nitrate fertilizers. These practices deplete micro-organisms from the soil, leaving crops sterile and nutrient deficient. Adding fulvic acid to your diet can provide powerful benefits to your health and well-being.
